Dynasty 03:09
DYNASTY Destiny has led us here Empire, crown and throne We shall rule as we see fit We and we alone What we hold is ours by right Paid for with our blood History is on our side God has deemed it good Blessed in our ancestry Those who went before Good enough was not enough They demanded more Battles fought on foreign fields Slew the fearsome foe Every act was justified To make the empire grow How our family was feared Dreadful was our name How our people loved us As they shouted in acclaim And we have a duty To prosper in our time We must forge alliances To propagate the line Children are the future They will hold the key Heirs and spares are needed To maintain the dynasty We can last forever Our own eternal flame Rule in perpetuity Glory to our name (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

Dreadnought 05:03
DREADNOUGHTS The ocean waves are ours We rule them for our gain No territory out of reach The seas may rise and fall Our brave mariners conquer all The elements that challenge us Fly our emblems around the globe Show the world we bow to none We come in peace, prepared to fight We have firepower if required To neutralise all resistance But that should never have to be The very sight of our vessels In their stern, grey majesty Fill the hearts of all with awe (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

FOR THE GREATER GLORY On foreign battlefields Where your fathers fell So shall you fall For the greater glory Fight the foe who'd dare to breach Our sacred boundaries There you shall fall For the greater glory All for the empire If you're brave and fight and live Through our justified campaigns Honours on you be bestowed For the greater glory We are nothing without you So we need you to believe But we will live while you will die For the greater glory (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma
4.
BLOOD AND TREASURE Blood and treasure The status quo must be maintained Regardless of the cost We will pay in blood and treasure Your blood – our treasure Our interests must be secured No matter what it takes We will pay for every measure Your blood – our treasure And the empire must survive Everything of worth we have Used to fund imperial pleasure Your blood – our treasure (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

EAGLES AND LIONS Eagles and lions Colours are flying On castles and buildings Throughout the land Eagles and lions Emblems of power Passed through the ages Into their hands Eagles and lions Thousands lay dying Fighting for causes Not of their choice Eagles and lions Symbols of empire Terror is struck In the hearts of all men Eagles and lions Colours are flying Thousands lay dying When will it end (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

The Superior 03:49
THE SUPERIOR We know where we stand On the ladder of humanity You are so far below us We are the superior We have the brains and the courage To conquer all before us You are the dust beneath our feet We are the superior All the riches of the world We consider them our due You crawl here with your begging bowl We are the superior If you were any good at all You'd try to block our path But you are weak and powerless We are the superior (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

THERE TO BE TAKEN Untold wealth there to be taken Hidden under foreign soil They will drain it all from you Extracting riches for their use They will steal your sweat and effort Till they work you to your death Do not raise your hand in protest Cut if from you at the wrist And your children will be taken Workers for their factories Living strictly in the boundaries That have been made for them Many others will be drafted Trained to fight and die for them Spill their blood in foreign quarters Buried in forgotten graves (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

ENEMIES WITHIN Who are the enemies within? What are their aims? Where are their lairs? How can they be found? Why do they conspire Against the glorious empire? What do they hope to achieve With their treachery? We will hunt them down Justice will be done And no mercy shown (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

THE COLOUR OF REVOLUTION Red is the colour of revolution Red is the colour of the rebels' blood Red is the colour of freedom Red is the colour of our heroes' hearts Blue is the colour of empire Blue is the colour of imperial blood Blue is the colour of tyranny Blue is the flag of the establishment Black are the hearts of our enemies Yellow the colour of their cowardice Brown are the noses of the bourgeoisie Perpetuating infamy (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma

END OF EMPIRE Now is not the time for the definitive account Of the events that led to the end of empire That is for another day For the present, an eyewitness account must suffice I am a normal person Neither a scholar nor an academic I live an ordinary life Doing normal everyday things Life has never been easy for people like me We struggle to keep a roof overhead To keep our families warm and fed To provide for our future Things are hard now But were much harder as part of the empire Harder for us all But much harder if you were of the wrong faith Or the wrong race Or the wrong colour If you were poor or ill If you were considered inferior in any way Or in every way As we shuffled to our daily toil On the land, in the factories, in the offices Where we worked long hours for little pay And little prospect of advancement Unless connected to the elite We could all see with our own eyes How corrupt the empire was How the dice were loaded In favour of the establishment How people with no talent or skill Other than that of exploiting their connections Could prosper in our so-called society. And then there were those who couldn't work And had no prospects They were left to wither and die on the periphery Or end up in prisons Or as conscripts in our armies To wear a uniform And die for the empire on foreign soil What a fate to endure And we could see the excesses of empire New palaces, new carriages, new garments All funded from our taxes Which we could ill-afford to pay Mindless consumption on ceremony Which we could only observe From behind a police cordon. Opposition was suppressed Rallies were disrupted Newspaper editors imprisoned Their presses smashed by henchmen Some token political alternatives allowed To add a veneer of democracy But it was all a sham – everyone could see that But many people went along with the charade And saw in it a way to turn a profit And to advance their own vain goals “God Save The Emperor” they would bellow When the imperial carriage Clattered through the boulevards Flanked on horseback by hussars Dressed in impeccable uniforms How could anyone not be impressed By this display of grandeur and power? But many were not impressed They could not accept that their ideas and beliefs Counted for nothing in this world If you were to be a loyal subject of the empire Then you must conform to the norms in every way Failing that, then you should not be surprised How the empire would inevitably treat you And if that fate were to befall you Then no pity could be shown Well, as you can imagine, it did not take long For a groundswell of rebellion to emerge Amongst the young, the poor, the intelligent All of whom were dissatisfied by the way The empire discounted them as "other" Treated them as outcasts If society rejects you, then you will reject society You will seek to reform it And create A more inclusive, equitable and viable model Where the people will have a proper say in their lives Where their existence is not controlled By blind compliance with diktats Imposed by puppet governments In thrall to the flawed product Of genetic engineering Groups assembled covertly Conscious always of the presence Of the hated secret police Who would arrest without conscience Those considered enemies of the empire Balding men in horn-rimmed glasses Moved to motivate the masses Why live life as a slave When you can fight for your freedom? Plans were formed and decisions were taken Effective action was the key Why go to prison for years for peaceful protest When a hero's death could affect greater change? Key figures were targetted and converted to the cause Infrastructure sabotaged Officials kidnapped, maimed or killed Mutiny promoted in the military Naval ports blockaded The levers of empire were damaged beyond repair When the gendarmerie took to the streets Rounding up the populace indiscriminately Killing the innocents without a second thought That caused the damburst of anarchy For several weeks blood was shed on all sides Those who could fled for their lives from the cities But nowhere was safe Sides were taken and scores were settled The purity of the cause was soon diluted As human nature took control Finally, the imperial palace was threatened The emperor promised reform In return for continuity of power But this was rejected Some wanted the ultimate revenge To terminate the regime But cooler heads prevailed Safe passage was negotiated All but the most basic assets were stripped And the ex-imperial entourage fled in exile To live a life of faded grandeur in a foreign land With the dim prospect of reversal of fortune If all else failed There was always something to be gained From genetic engineering So that was how the empire ended And where are we now? Life is still hard in the aftermath But instead of being ruled By God's anointed in their peacock finery Our lives are now determined By grim-faced ideologues Who think that people can be kept in check By rigid political systems Opposition is suppressed Rallies are disrupted Newspaper editors imprisoned Their presses smashed by henchmen Some token political alternatives are allowed To add a veneer of democracy But it is all a sham – everyone can see that And they say that this is what we fought and died for It's not what I wanted I can see no real improvement in my life All colour has been drained from our world We live in uniform grey They have given us some small benefits for sure A gymnasium in every municipality And informative political cabarets at the weekend But they have taken all our freedoms away And the new system has created A pool of disaffected people Many were those who opposed the empire And these have been joined by new recruits Who reject the new status quo Right now, these disparate groups are at loggerheads But those now in power should be concerned If they ever decide to combine their efforts To topple the new regime But that's not my problem right now I just want stability I'm too old and tired to rebel for any cause In some respects I have come to miss The emperor's face on our currency The absence of pomp and ceremony At least back then, we knew where we stood Even if we had no choice where that was Now it seems that we ourselves have chosen The pool of shit we stand in Some endorsement for freedom It didn't take long to rid ourselves Of the imperial yoke. But I suspect we'll be Stuck with these fuckers For a long, long time (c) 2023 plasmaDOGplasma
